Rosenberg, Texas is a city southwest of Houston in the center of Fort Bend County. It earned the nickname Mudtown because of regular flooding of the Brazos River that made the streets muddy. The city is named after Henry von Rosenberg, a wealthy railroad tycoon. It was first settled in 1823.
